Newsletters and Appeal Letters
Every spring and fall, we publish a newsletter full of pictures and information about our latest activities, new kids, and programs about to begin or expand. We also mail an appeal letter, which highlights one of our programs, twice each year.

• In the 2009 Fall Newsletter, Olga Murray reveals a major victory in NYOF's work to free girls from virtual slavery. She also tells the story of a boy on the verge of death who, after being rescued and raised by NYOF, went to law school and filed a suit to defend the rights of enslaved girls. Olga also describes a malnourished child's amazing transformation at one of NYOF's Nutritional Rehabilitation Homes. (4 pages, 3.6mb pdf)
• In Olga's 2009 Fall Appeal Letter, she describes some of NYOF's pioneering vocational training programs. Girls we liberate from virtual slavery who have never attended school have the opportunity to learn skills such as growing henna. Other students can learn to be cooks, lab technicians, and more! Vocational training is particularly beneficial due to Nepal's extremely high unemployment rate. (2 pages, 1.89mb pdf)
• In the 2009 Summer Newsletter, Olga tells the story of Dr. Harish, who received a scholarship from NYOF and now runs a hospital that provides health care for the poor. This newsletter also includes the latest information about the Indentured Daughters Program, which rescues girls from virtual slavery, and the Nutritional Rehabilitation Homes, which have saved 5000 children from severe maluntrition. Olga's Email Dispatches
Olga Murray, NYOF's founder and president, sends short emails full of local Nepali flavor and news about our projects and the children we help. Some recent dispatches are below. To receive your own dispatches from Olga, email us at info@nyof.org.
• In her May 2010 email, Olga describes the fun of bringing the younger kids NYOF supports on a safari in the jungle! She also writes about how the older kids nurture and look after the younger ones, and a very unique alarm clock.
• Olga's February 2010 email from Nepal is about Manoj, a young boy from a deeply troubled family who just joined J House, and the warm welcome he received from the other children. You can also watch a video in which Olga describes NYOF's projects to transform the lives of impoverished Nepali youth.
• In her December 2009 dispatch from Kathmandu, Olga Murray describes an adventure getting home from the airport, her life in Nepal, and celebrating Christmas in Kathmandu. She also shares the new plan to eliminate the tradition of selling little girls into virtual slavery.

• In NYOF's 2009 Spring Appeal Letter, Olga Murray describes her unforgettable experience of being on The Oprah Show, and Oprah's enthusiastic support for NYOF's Indentured Daughters Program. • The 2008 Fall Newsletter tells the story of a girl who sold herself into slavery just to get an education. Now she's free, and NYOF is supporting her education. Olga also describes meeting the new tiny tots at J & K House, and she tells the story of Santosh, who says that losing one arm is the best thing that ever happened to him - because it led him to NYOF. Olga's Email Dispatches
• Olga's September 2009 email features a new video about a student whose life was transformed by NYOF. You can also learn how to connect with NYOF through Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube!
• In the May 2009 email, you can read the story of Laxmi, a disabled girl whose heartbreaking story has a happy ending. Olga Murray also asks for donations of laptops, because of the prolonged power outages in Kathmandu, and cameras for the field workers from our Nutritional Rehabilitation Homes.
• In Olga Murray's February 2009 email, she writes about NYOF being featured on the front page of the San Francisco Chronicle. You can read the article and watch a video made by the Chronicle staff.
• Olga's January 2009 email discusses the tremendous impact that NYOF's Indentured Daughters Program has made on the Dang District in rural Nepal, as well as the urgent need for the program to be expanded to other districts.
• In her December 2008 email, Olga describes Christmas in Kathmandu, as well as how she kept Nepali children entertained while a PBS crew filmed a documentary about NYOF's successful efforts to rescue girls from virtual slavery.
