Join NYOF for an Art Auction Fundraiser!

On March 21 in Foster City, California (in the San Francisco Bay Area), "Invisible Hand of the Philanthropist" is holding a fundraiser for NYOF and several other nonprofits.

One of the pieces of art that you can bid on in the auction is the painting to the right by Sonja Navin (SonjaNavin.com), entitled "Kausi." (10" x 10", oil on canvas)

Sonja said, "This painting was made in response to a news article featuring the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation's work to aid and rescue young girls. At the time, I was painting a portrait of my own daughter, who was 7, the same age as Kausi. Kausi's forlorn and resigned look haunted me. I felt she also deserved to have her portrait painted. It was my own way of trying to make sense of the sadness these young girls face."
